Thanks for starting it back up kry. I'm in for the fun! We went back to milo in our food plot this year. About to plant some oats and turnips. All of the horns I've seen in Hemphill county look great so far!
Got the hernia fixed last year so I plan on getting back to the bow this year. We still have a lot of work to do before season starts.

Just got cameras out last week up in Donley county. I'll be back up Labor Day weekend and can't wait to check them. Good luck to all you panhandle hunters!

Folks, hadn't heard much about it, but it looks like Turkey got hit by a tornado last night. If you're of a mind to, I'm sure the affected wouldn't mind a prayer or two thrown their way.

TURKEY STORM DAMAGE UPDATE - We have received some pictures from our Storm Chasers Bryan Leeper and Jeff Moore, along with a pic from Crystal Velasquez Fuston, of some of the damage to the city of Turkey. Bryan and Jeff report that power is completely out in the city and that there has been extensive damage to the Allsup's (shown in Crystal's pic). Some homes have suffered extensive damage as well, but the good news is that NO injuries have been reported! We will continue to keep you updated as we get more information!

Prayers sent and hope everybody in Turkey is doing ok.

                  But this guy.
Content to run amuck in my feed pen, he goes right over top of hog panels.
Cannot wait to hear the opening click of a large mechanical parting his ribs.

Pics of this guy eating corn don't happen.
He eats protein and nothing else.

                        Clark,

it may be just perspective of the photos, but it looks like that buck lost a bit compared to last year. Are you thinking he will finish as strong as last year?

I don't know, might have gotten a little heavier?
This 8 pt runs with the best buck in the pasture.
And that big buck has regressed, I'm pretty sure.
We didn't get rain for much of the growth period.

We've been getting timely rain for the finish and the big buck isn't as far along.

Will post pictures of him tomorrow.

Dang, Clark. You never cease to amaze with the pics of dandy bucks. Just...dang.

Oh, and that hog needs to be perforated for pulling a stunt like that.

Yeah, but you got some bucks with age on 'em in a year they're scarce

                                Agreed.
Maybe Jeff will chime in, but I recall him mentioning 2012 recruitment was near 0% around here.
