Arrow in backstrap of healthy deer

Saw this on face book. Crazy how tough they are.

10 inches of carbon arrow with broad head embedded in a fully healthy looking doe. The backstraps had healed up and the arrow was completely encased in scar tissue.

I was cutting the straps out of a hill country young deer when A LOT of white **** came oozing out...pulled out about a 1' piece of limp about as big around as a broom handle. It was encapsulated with that same white stuff but hardened. Wasn't a really old deer so I'm guessing he was running wide open as a youngster & caught a low limb??

Yes. Nature can be tough. I'd have an issue believing this if I hadn't seen a buck that survived an arrow in the front skull.
