I've had it for as long as I can remember. I've had the acid come up so far as to burn my vocal chords. I've had all kinds of tests done, including drinking barium, which is like drinking paint. I was on Nexium for years and finally gave that up and started using an OTC medicine. Plain old Omeprazole from HEB is what I use everyday. I can miss one day and not have any issues, but if I miss two days in a row it hits me pretty hard.

Quick fix around our house is Bitters mixed with soda water or sprite for taste. Relieves it almost instantly. We take Wal-Zan ranitidine from Walgreens to avoid it from time to time when we know we are eating something that we react poorly to.

Wife got it so bad 2 years ago we had to see multiple specialist. Ended up closing her throat up it got so bad she has having shortness of breath. They had to send a tube down her throat and dilate it with an air bubble. Even then for a while she had a very sore throat because the acid had torn at the esophagus and scarred over which was tough to fully heal because every time she ate it tore at the scar tissue. Went on a fully bland diet for 6 months for it to heal properly.

Don't wait or just deal with it, it's a serious issue and can become life threatening.

Mine became an issue over the last few years due to my use of snuff, I was getting it daily. Quit dipping 3 weeks ago and have only had it twice since then (greasy foods).

              Good luck

                apple cider vinegar as well

my wife struggles with it every day.. shes tried everything and nothing works for her.. shes given up and says shes just destined to die from esophageal cancer.. its horrible to watch her go through it
You and I are in the same boat! Tbsp of apple cider vinegar (raw) in a 4oz glass of water before each meal will do wonders for you! If I get a bad case I generally take 2 tbsp and its gone in 15 min.

I have heard the cancer line about a million times from my wife lol

Mine was so bad, no medicine would work. The only thing that did work was a prescription that was going to cost me $250 a month. Then I started taking a shot of lemon juice with breakfast. It took about 2 months to work but now its manageable. When I get indigestion I take baking soda and water. Life has been a lot better since.

If you stop shoveling food down your gullet late at night, you should live and prosper. Please send $35 consult fee.

If you have reflux regularly I highly suggest going to a gastro doctor and ask about an endoscope - very simple procedure but allows him to take a look at your throat and stomach to see if the acid is doing damage. When they found my Barretts I went and had it frozen (also a simple procedure) via cryo - I then had the scope every year for the first 4-5 years. It it is still all clear so now I go have the scope every two years. Percentage chances of Barretts turning into cancer are relatively low but if it does then you are done.

I never shovel food and especially late at night. I am in perfect health - run 15 miles a week - do not smoke and am not overweight. Nevertheless I got reflux but with zero symptoms -

So you are correct - your odds go way up if you eat wrong, overweight, etc. But reflux is not confined to just that - can happen to anyone -

Sounds like you do have acid reflux. Please take it from me, I suffered from it for over 20 years. I took every antacid the Dr’s could up with Pepcid, prevacid,Zantac and many others. I now suffer frim CKD , chronic kidney disease, from them. My kidney do not work I have been on dialysis for two years now because of taking them. Go get some pure peppermint oil “ preferably the Young Living brand and put 3-4 drops on your upper stomach and rub it in. This gas given me tremendous relief it’s it will not harm you kidneys in any way. PM me if you want to talk farther. God Bless , Joe

Works like a charm, and works quickly.
