Really! Come on Lampasas County Attorney! This is why these things keep happening. These kids talk about shooting up a school and how it would be executed and you charge them with a Class A misdemenor "false alarm or report". You have got to be kidding me. Hell, people get charged with a terroristic threat for saying less. Bring the hammer down on them! As a teacher and coach in a nearby district, this gets my blood boiling. Just un-freaking-believable! |

This is why local politics is so important to pay attention to. Liberal DA's, liberal judges....

maybe the FBI will come in and check their computers to see if they have a real interest in shooting up the place or if they are just ignorant teenagers

In some counties you'd be hard pressed to even get an arrest from the DA's office on something like that. Oh, the police would arrest but the DA's office wouldn't take it.

By the words of the article, I don’t think they committed any crime.

Good job by the other students for telling someone though. These kids are probably just idiots talking but hopefully they're on someone's radar now.

That article is a very poor source. I can imagine sitting around with my buddies after the Florida incident and saying "wow, they could come here and do this and do that and go here and go there and shoot down this hall and hide in this stairwell" and it would possibly sound like we were planning something, when i reality, it was a discussion on how volatile we are.
I cant base merit of an arrest based on that poorly written article. |

Happens daily. Police officers hands are tied as to what they can arrest for and/or ticket for. You dang near have to actually physically do something before the justice system can get involved in "school" business. Now the school can and will expel, but obviously doesnt solve the issue; only removes it until it comes back armed.

Wayne with the NRA mentioned a deal like this on his speech...he touted a stat about an extremely high number of felons & the like who got denied by NICS & were caught. Only 44 of them even went to trial.
Complicated problem in regards to getting addressed. |

The important thing is fast action was taken in addressing the issue. Didn't give them 20yrs on the first day but did snatched them up and put them in the system.
