First speckled trout on the fly rod.

I am dying to do this. I've tried a bit but go back to my spinning rod/reel. What weight rod do you use? I have a 5 and 8.

We were fishing a deeper cut adjacent to a shell/mud flat. The fish were holding on the bottom and we were having a hard time getting fly down to them.

Very cool, I've never targeted trout on the fly and had any luck, have caught 2 by accident while chasing reds. Great stuff, thanks for sharing!

Yea i thought about taking another rod but i wanted to catch something on the fly rod even if that meant getting skunked. I was using a 8wt but my brother was using his 5wt.
