Or neck, or head, or date. World champion guesser in my opinion.

Not sure how the date would help you age unless you have pics in other years, and I do.

This deer's ears both turn down on the ends. So we are sure who he is from one year to the next.

Date of pic will determine pre rut / post rut. I don’t understand why we can’t see his horns. I’ve never heard anyone use horns to help age unless they have history on deer.

He looks old to me.

Barrel chested, big heavy brisket, gray face, torn ear from fighting, scars on the head and neck area, calloused on the front legs. All indicators is he is definetly mature. To pick a exact age? Naw, cant do that, but he is mature.

Rutted out deer look younger.

Edit: Just saw the other photos.
Wrinkled ears and saggy chin.

7.5 the date the phone was taken.

He’s got one foot in the grave. It’s you or the yotes at this point. Hopefully he grows back all of his character.

That buck has some age on him for sure!

- heavy wrinkling around the base of his ears
- skin sagging under his chin
- loose skin forming a crease along his windpipe
- briske sags below the line of his belly

My guess would be 7.5 in the pics

Based on the amount of scribbles in this pic, I'd say he's between 7 and 8 years old

Here is the first an only pic we had of him in 2012. It's hard to say how old he was then (Burnadel had is camera facing the wrong direction) but I think it is safe to say he was not 1yo. So if he was 2 then he was 7 last year. Good guess Labman.

Here's a couple of pics with my phone from the stand. I passed him two years in a row because I couldn't get him to 160.

Sorry about the sideway pics.

Is 160" the rule for shooting bucks on this place or your personal preference? I would shoot that deer because of his age and body size. I mean he looks like a steer in that picture. That alone makes him a trophy in my book.
