I wonder what y’all think the grizzlies that populated the West were killed with ? A 30-30 will definitely kill a grizzly if he’s shot between the ears. It’s roughly twice the power of the old 44-40 which was the cartridge most popular during the late black powder era. I’m certain there were grizzlies killed with it.

You gotta hit them though. Can’t shoot two feet high and a foot left which is where Rip’s shot was headed when it fired.

I guess this kinda helps make my point...Iím not saying a 30-30 canít kill grizzlies. However, if that would have been the only detail I questioned, the show probably would be ok. But itís not just that, itís one thing after another. They want drama so bad they are trying to infuse drama unnecessarily.

Just a prediction: the Dutton daughter will commit suicide, something will happen to Rip, the Dutton son running for attorney general wonít win, the California big wig will partner with the Indians and start taking over the ranch, John Dutton will almost die of cancer three more times, and Casey will
Be the only one left standing. But heís going to have a huge moral dilemma on his hands to protect his family ranch (after his dad dies) or else please his Indian wife because the Indians are taking over the ranch.

Only half what I typed has a 50% chance of coming true. But thatís about as accurate as the witting for this show has been

To clarify the cowboy branding. Cowboy is branded if he is given a second chance to stay on the ranch after messing up. Casey is branded!!! He screwed up, was given a second chance by Mr. Dutton (Dad), and branded. I think I'm correct about that.

Heck Tim Wells head shot a grizzly with a bow and dropped him. I would say a 30-30 is plenty powerful to drop one with a head shot at close range.

I am glad I am not the only one that is having problems with the volume- got the volume on tv all the way up and the sound bar making the walls vibrate and still can't hear parts. My question is....how long is that young kid going to keep that band aid on that right cheek?

Problem I have is they keep getting little details wrong in so many ways. So Walker gets out of jail and Rip picks him out and ask all the ranches he has worked on and he names off some of the finest around in Texas etc. Yet he wears a perfectly clean almost near white hat. Ain't no real cowboy worked on all the ranches I ever seen doing what they do and that hat look like that. A real cowboys hat is well worn and sweat stained. That's just how it is. Don't know why they can't get that right. Come on man......

I'm not really a horse guy so don't know the answer. But do most horses go crazy like that when they get bit by a horsefly? Rip seemed to think it was a forgone conclusion that if he didn't slap that horsefly, ole gal was going for a ride.

Nope, I'm too busy straining to hear the show. Honestly, why would I? Seems like they don't do a whole lot of cowboying anyways, they are always in the bunkhouse I just take the show at face value. The part where the newborn calf jumped up and took off running made me chuckle though

Lol In with you in that. Have to crank it up when they talk and turn in down on the commercials. I am enjoying the show so far and the little details don't mean much to me.

Oh yeah the calf jumping up and running off..LOL right up there with no sweat stained hat just poking fun, I like the show. At least they are trying to give us a show worth watching as there is so much garbage TV shows on now.

The horse probably would have run off with her kicking, flopping and pulling after the first jump, not the horsefly. That was the biggest **** horsefly I've ever seen.

At least jimmy got a new hat. I think I would have taken my son and told the old lady she can come to the ranch and visit when she gets out of the hospital also.

We have all seen calves play on the first day. I smiled when it ran off. I never dreamed it would get mentioned here. Its a whose "more country" contest I guess , with hats, sweat stains, and calves running after breached birth pull I want a R&L tattoo now..no thank you on branding me
