    Need Snake id

Found this dude laying along side my back door. I about killed my self from the shock of almost stepping on him. Don’t think it’s poisonous but the damage is done to my back and maybe torn ACL from trying to back flip and run.

Looks like a water snake to me. Head don't look right for a cottonmouth

This story is exactly how non-venomous snakes can cause a trip to the ER.

Thanks guys. He was laying at the door jam trying to soak up AC slipping from underneath I guess. Typically not scared of snakes until I step on them lol.

Blotched and yellow bellied are no longer accepted names as they once were. It’s a plain bellied water snake. Either way, non venomous fish and frog eater.
