Default Updated Pics! S. TX Typical 12

I posted a thread on this deer a couple of weeks ago. Just pulled cards again last night. Score guesses? He is 6.5 this year and will be on the hit list. Duval County, low fence.

I would say in the 70's. One heck of a low fence buck. Good luck with him.

You obviously never hunted a managed ranch in south TX. Every buck you shoot has to fit a category of age and horn size.

Thanks guys, we are pretty excited about him. We found both his sheds last year and with an estimated spread of 17" he taped out at 167". He appears to have added some inches this year compared to last. We have been watching this deer since he was a year and a half old. Has been cool to watch him progress.

I guess I just need to get better at judging big deer. I have him at 166, which is lower than everyone else and less than his sheds from last year scored. Any deer that goes over around the 155 mark, I usually under judge. I guess it's because I've never really seen any in person that big.

Then you and I are in the same boat. I just can't seem to get him in the 70's. However, he still has a bit of time to put on the last several inches.

That's awesome, you should share some progression pics of how he looked each year.
