    Not if they are cast iron. You can repair cracks in cast iron but it is next to impossible to weld cast iron together

          Could be steel I didn't look at it long. I need to go back and pick one up and bring it in for more pics, etc.

            It's not that hard to weld cast iron together or to braze it either. You do have to know the properties of cast iron and the correct techniques though.

              I've welded cast a bunch of times. brazed it with brass filler and cast iron rod... both ways.

                    A drill bit segment.
                    Put three of the smooth ends together and you have a drill bit.
