Still need to seal the hearth but the mantel is done. I like how everything turned out.

Can you describe how you did the hearth a little bit?

just a note... most metal fireboxes require a sheet metal strip under stove and hearth to prevent embers from falling between and reaching a wood floor or frame. as this was built there is a potential for an ember to fall behind the slab and reach the wood. check your owners manual for the model firebox you have.
