So here's the roof cone pattern, excluding 1/4 inch extra for lap to make welding a little easier. Cut out 2 of them and weld 'em together, then weld to top of bin. Poor little jigsaw is getting a workout!

Back at it today. Half the domed roof cut out and the other half marked to be cut out.

            Painted the insides...

Roof tacked in place and seamed up. Shut down early to take Valentines gifts to the grand kids. Tomorrow will be a big day for this project.

Have all my angles and cut lengths calculated so there's gonna be some sparks flying tomorrow.

Lots of rods burned today. Got the domed roof welded out and added a 14" diameter hatch.

                    Lid turned out OK too.

Cut and mitered the 4" channel iron legs and they'll go on tomorrow. That's it for the day.

Got the legs welded to the skids. The channel iron is salvaged from a boat trailer that I replaced almost 4 years ago. I've had the metal stacked up just waiting for this project.

OK, so this probably isn't an OSHA-approved lift but I did take as many safety precautions as I could think of.

Everything fit-up as planned. Got it welded out and rock-solid stable. Took a little time out to visit with the grand daughter and the kids.

That will do it for this weekend.
