Hey folks, I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone has hunted unit 51 in New Mexico? I have a 3rd season rifle tag and figured I would see what kind of experience was out there. I usually hunt the Gila during archery season, but this year got a little tricky with my moving and everything. Any info helps!

Taken a lot of elk there but always in September. Don't have a clue where they would be that late. Where I hunt you may not be able get there late.Comment

Hunted it about 5 yrs ago 2nd mulie season. Saw a ton of fresh elk sign. Saw a group of cows and rag horn. Were I hunted I saw more elk than mulies and a gorgeous cinnamon bear
