    Contemplating a career change

    I'm thinking sales sounds fun

    Been in trucking since 1994.
    Done lots of different things.
Been working at a trailer repair shop for the past 6 years. Done lots of things here.
Anyone interested in teaching me how to be successful at it?

I'm looking for new challenges in life.
FWIW I'll be 48 this year.
I don't always speak or type good. Can be grouchy when prodded.

Main thing about me is that I Love Jesus.

Following as I'm in the same boat. Healthcare cuts have rocked our industry and it's getting time for a change.

I just walked out of a sales job. I have always been the top producing salesman any where I worked but I have a hard time working for someone else. I run a business better and more efficiently and need time to do other stuff.
Loving the Lord is a big bonus because if you really want to be good at sales you need to care about the customers needs and listen...but that can get old if you tend to be grumpy. It is really a service industry and I really don't enjoy baby sitting.
I walked out 2 weeks ago, bought a tractor and started a shredding and wood cutting service which allows me to find stuff to buy and resell like old tractors, vehicles etc...I am making custom Mesquite Furniture also which will pay off.
Sales is an up and down cycle that not everyone can handle well.

As a salesman, sales sucks. I can't wait to get out.

The key to sales is as simple as ABC.
                              Always
                              Be
                              Closing
