Thanks. I was a very young kid when we found it. I called it a tomahawk back then but it is too thick and not sharp enough for that. I know I would not want to get hit in the head with it.Comment

The large piece, from what I have read many times, is a tomahawk head. What is bad, I found two of them and knew the grooves were done by a human, but assumed it was done in recent times and tossed them right back on the ground.Comment

We found these in a freshly plowed field in northeast Texas. There was a bunch of broken pottery, bone and clam shell fragments. My dad felt like it was either a camp or a burial ground. We would have never seen it if the field had not just been plowed. The shell caught our eye. The pottery fragments had intricate patterns on them.
