Let's not forget about the Orange Blossom outside of Mt Pleasant. Didn't spend a lot of time there, but when I did, well, let's just say "Good Times"!!!
And the Cowboy in Mexia. And I think by God it's still there!!! Spent a many Wed nites there. That was Ladies Night!!

Considering that it's Texas Monthly, I wouldn't set my sights too high. Lots of great honky tonks in Texas, that no liberal millennial from that left-leaning rag would set foot in. Also, LMAO at all the "non-smoking" establishments. In a "honky tonk"? Are you for real?

Sun dance in Coldsprings. It was BYOB and was a legit Honky Tonk.

I like Arkey Blues in Bandera, but hung out at the Cabaret a lot more.

Floores was good when it was still a honky .

So was the Best Western motel!!!

There were many more depending on your flavor but those were popular at different times from early 90’s to about 2005. Some are still here and others are gone but not forgotten.

The only real honky tonk in Houston was Blanco’s.......period.

the last time I got kicked out of the Crystal Chandilier(the fellas in south Dallas county didn't like the way I looked i guess cause they were always trying to rearrange it) they said that not only could I not come back my grandkids could come. I have no grandkids so the joke was on them. And shortly after they tore it down.
