Yamaha 48 Volt Golf Cart Issues

Last trip to the deer camp the golf cart about left me stranded. I limped it back to camp after the hunt, but it only ran about 1/4 speed. I charged the batteries(New 12/2018) and it still would not run full speed. All wires or new or in good condition. Any idea what it could be?

Does an electric golf cart have a throttle sensor? Is that also the pedal to make it go?

Can I test it some how and is it located by the pedal?
