Since I have not killed a deer with a bow, he would be taking a dirt nap. Now after I have taken deer with a bow and there was plenty of time left in the season, I would let him walk. If season was ending in a few days, dirt nap!

Even if we was injured on the one side, the other side is sub par in my opinion. Assuming you have plenty of deer and assuming you are managing for the best herd possible, I would take him out as soon as I could and not think twice about it. I don't care how old he is, I would not want what appears to be an inferior gene reproducing.
