The plan is for PoPo and I to make the same trips as last year; Karnes County, Sonora, and Christoval w/Smart

We'll be wrapping up our season with Merriam LDPs in Wyoming and South Dakota! It should be a great time!

any outfitters that you have seen that you like?

I'm in the Naples area (south) but I can basically go anywhere in the state.

It's last minute, so I'm hoping to find a one or two day hunt on a cancellation deal.

In SD are you sticking to just black hills tag or prairie tag too and/or reservation(s)?
Is WY one tom? Since you have to drive North to get there maybe you can throw me, smart and eradicator in the truck bed and make it a more interesting trip

Good luck, we will be chasing them in Atascosa county for the opener. Hopping on a plane next Thursday headed to south Florida to chase Osceola's amongst the gators and timber rattlers. Josh25tx and I will make a hunt in April in the north zone near San Angelo as well. Can't wait to get spring started with a chance at a big multibeard for myself, finding sheds and arrowheads this year....

Driving through Karnes today I saw some time strutting hard north of Fashing. Also, saw lots of birds between Pawnee and kenedy moving mid morning.

Did you see toms with hens?

Reason I ask is from what Iíve been seeing, the toms havenít been with hens.

Very weird for this time of year.

That's correct. No toms were with hens. I've never really seen them strut without hens around but this group of toms was showing off. I did however see toms and jakes with hens in Refugio county earlier this week.

Have a buddy scouting in Wilson County and he is watching 17 long beards strut around...not a hen anywhere in site.

Default JFT Turkey Tour 2018

That'll make for a quick hunt for him in the morning then. 17 longbeards strutting by themselves would make a hell of a pic as well....

Really enjoy your post Clay! Last year was our worst in Menard County in 28. I was at our place last weekend and there were several hundred birds roosting on our creek. Just hope a couple stick around for two weeks. Good Luck!!

Birds south of goliad on 239 were still separated, although I suspect that won't last much longer.

Just got in from the ranch, josh25tx and I put some to roost in atascosa county. Not going to be a easy hunt in the morning they roosted with a bunch of hens near the big tank. It's like the hen crop this year is triple what it was last year.....good luck to all in the morning!
