get rid of the decoys- In my experience they hang birds up. Its not natural for a mature bird to come all the way to a hen. He will stop and show off and she is suppose to come to him. I do best just dropping the volume on my calling and have them think the hen is walking away.


Congrats on the double. Never thought about still hunting in a dry stand when its raining. If it is damp outside during turkey season I am usually soaked from walking through tall grass and such.

I got down and got in front of the turkeys and let them come to me.

No decoy with a shotgun will work. No decoy with a bow is tough. You need the decoy to position the bird in front of a window for a shot.

Bow out of tree stand with 50 turkeys under a feeder is a blast!! And hard with all them eyes!! Done it a couple of times successfully and failed many more.
