How to fix a water well?

This well is on family land and hasn't been used or had a pump hooked up to it in over 25 years.

While kicking the top off today some leaves and branches fell in.
A rat made that ice chest which was upside down on the well lid into his condo for the winter and he had his fridge stacked with snacks and beer to outlast winter (I'm sure he was taking a dump in my well as well)

Anyhow, whatwould I need to do in order to get this operational again besides dumping a bunch of Clorox in it?

Water level is maybe 20 feet from top/lid of well

I would rent a generator and put a pump in it. Kick off the pump and let it flow, it will either pump down the water column or clear it up. Probably have to pump a couple of hundred gallon out of it.

Jet it with an air compresspr. Most water well persons have one

I dipped a cup to give my daughter a drink and she said it tasted fine.

Looks like a heck of a well or a cistern. Did you really let your daughter drink from it?

I'm gonna use it to water trees and fill animal water troughs

Now I need a lid and a pump

Just drink it. You don't have worry about any hospital bills.

Bleach it and pump it for a while. It will be fine.

Or just take a water sample and send it to a lab for $30, like most people do when they buy a house with a well....
