"You Might Be A Redneck" Blind

I posted this before the crash and got it finished up last weekend!! I started out with an old hay ring that was just sitting out behind the barn. I took some 4" hog wire and wrapped it around the ring after I had cut a 2 ft. doorway in the ring.

then used DH30's idea of the pvc pipe for a top and they fit perfectly into the ring tubing, I secured them with self tappers in the tubing and then zip tied the pipes together at the top.

Then I wrapped some burlap camo netting around it using the zip ties!!

Put a brown tarp over the top and covered that with some more camo!

oh yeah, I forgot to mention this thing is like 8 ft around so you've got plenty of room, and it's about 6 ft. tall at the top of the dome!!

Nice job . That is simular to a blind i helped my dad build a few years ago.We used old tractor tires for the base though. This does give me an idea for that old hay ring lying in my pasture though.

                        Hay Blind

Have any of you seen the "Hay Blind"? I killed my 10 point P&Y from one in Illinois. They look exactly like a rounded bale of hay except they are a bit larger. It was set between two regular rolls of hay and the deer just thinks it's another bale of hay. NEAT!!

Hmmm - I've several of those round bale rings at the ranch. Wonder if the rancher would miss them?

                            Looks good.
