Coyote to rabbit is a big jump.

But I've killed coyote, bobcat, and rabbits with a 17hmr.

If trying to save pelt .204 works. Just shooting 22-250 is still king.

I had a .221 fireball that was also awesome at doing the above. OP is too vague at the moment

Are you saving fur? If so a .22 Hornet or .17 Hornet. If not a .223,204,22-250 or .243.

Remington 700,Ruger M77,Savage Axis II or an AR-15 all make good predator/varmint huntin rifles.

A shotgun is about the best thing there is for fur. Foxes ain't the brightest crayon in the box so that's doable. Then again taxidermist can fix some pretty tore up stuff as long as they're not blown in half and whatnot. A .17WSM will get the job done on jackrabbits and foxes but you can count on losing some coyotes. If you get shots out to 300 I'd choose the .223 and the 22-250 for further shots.

17 Remington, it’s a wicked little pill traveling over 4K FPS and a blast to shoot.

17 bmag or a 17 hornet. Both of mine are tach drivers.

204, 223 or 22-250. All will do fine. You will blow up rabbits, blow holes in a few fox and will be fine on cats and dogs. As for rifle, Ruger American, Howa, Tikka, Remington, CZ and Savage all make nice rifles at reasonable price. Nicer rifle, Browning, Sako, Bergara, Ruger M77, Cooper.

I’d recommend the savage bmag in 17wsm, with a Boyd’s stock.
