Got a doe Saturday afternoon. It rained like crazy Saturday morning. This morning was really foggy. Still just seeing young bucks and does at the feeders. At least I got to make a good meal tonight for the family!

Yep been there and done that but it’s also another good reason not to have a stand right on a main road. Sucks that you had a wasted trip.

The girlfriend and I headed West Friday evening. Saw lots of activity even with the range conditions being so green. Ended up harvesting my target management buck. Made a perfect shot on him and he went down 60 yards later. With all the summer protein and good rain we’ve been getting, he was a tough loading into the Ranger. He weighed 171#. Might have to bring her more often with the luck we had.

Saturday morning we chose to stay in because of the rain but fortunately enough was able to hunt Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Both hunts we were covered up and saw some bucks I’m excited to see what they turn into.

Me and the boy are headed out with the xbow to look for one of our target bucks. He may fire his guide soon if I keep making him pass 10 pts! lol

We hunt in Water Valley. This is the first one taken off the ranch in the three years we’ve been on the place. But we have had encounters with them and had them on camera since year one.

Well we had one of our target bucks in the pen about 5 times. Kept jumping in and out. Too many other deer in the pen, etc. Just couldn’t get a good shot on the right one. Saw 9 bucks and 3 doe. Son was excited and ready to go back so we had fun.

Checked gauge on way out and we had 1/2” rain while we were out there.

Thanks again, y’all. Was an easy track but was a little hard to find my arrow even with a pass through on this one.

Also prayers sent for all those affected by the floods. My thoughts and prayers are with y’all.

Well my daily check on the weather looked a little better today, only one day next week over 40% rain chance now. Its going to already be wet and muddy and I'm going to have to take my wheeler to get around but cant waste 5 off days....

Maybe the flash flood warning will be gone by then and make me feel a little more warm and fuzzy!

Well, I know its gonna be a mess, but this weekend is the only one I have until Thanksgiving to hunt. Anyone else east of San Angelo in Concho Co gonna hunt? Looks like the rain will break a little tomorrow afternoon and hoping itll be a good time to be in the stand. Got a massive 6pt I really want to connect with.
