    Finished my last safari

Some of you may know this, but I took a promotion and "moved" to Houston back in the fall. I'm still driving back and forth on the weekends to "my home" while renting a small aprt in downtown Houston. This basically killed my ability to do my side taxidermy projects and I basically closed down to customer stuff. Funny thing is I have lots of spare time on my hands M-Thur but the apt isn't conducive to taxidermy I have taken up another hobby as a result which you'll see a little later. With over 60 mounts in my house, I needed something that wouldn't use much space for the project so I decided to go with a cluster mount for the largest and smallest of the safari. They will all hang on the wall if needed at a later time and the base comes part in 2 sections.

Man that looks amazing! Hate to hear you're quiting the Taxi business.

Love the cluster mount though very cool!

And with my new found spare time, I decided to try my hand at sculpting. This is my 2nd piece which is basically a replica of my kudu. Big daddy and mini me in same pic

Thanks- I'll never quit, just side tracked for the moment. I hope to have a more stable living arrangement worked out in next year or so that will allow me to do more stuff again. Or when I retire in 5 years

That's everything from my last safari as the jackal skull is on the base, but the mountain reedbuck, which went #11 in SCI. He is mounted but I'm really allergic to him, so he stays upstairs. I didn't have a picture of that mount, but it's a standard shoulder. Had I known he was going to go #11, I might have done something more special in the mount but being allergic to it, it wouldn't have matter

That's an awesome looking bunch of mounts!!! The sculpting looks good too!

That's crazy that your allergic to the mount. I never would have thought about that happening.
