Places to fly fish in Texas/Oklahoma

A kid that works for me was asking where the best place to fly fish is within 6 hrs of DFW. I'm not a fly fisherman so I wanted to see what y'all say.

I would say broken bow but I'm a hack at best for fly fishing! We're headed there this weekend. Taking little man to see if he can catch a trout in the river although slabs might win out. Never yanked one out of broken bow before!![emoji41]

3ish hours from DFW Broken Bow/Beavers Bend if he wants to fish for trout.

Missouri and Arkansas
Of the two for fly fishing I'd look to Northern Arkansas. Great trout fishery

Is this for trout?

If not, the nearest lake will do fine. Cast a clouser minnow and catch bass.

Beavers bend can be great trout fishing just make sure you pay attention to the map because different parts of the river have different rules
