Default 2018 Houston Astros season thread, Repeat!

Well, here we go again! Had to start new thread on same day as last year because we don't want to jinx em, right Smart?. On paper, we should be even better than last year with the addition of Cole and the two bullpen guys, but you never know. "LEADERSHIP"!

Go 'Stros! If they maintain their humility and focus, there no reason they should not repeat... They have what appears to be good leadership and coaching/management staff... I just have a hard time with the ownership... Not a Crain fan... but won't hold that against the boys who play the game.

Springer Dinger is on board. Things are shaping up nicely. USA TODAY (not exactly a sports powerhouse) predicts 100 wins with a 16 (I think) game lead over the Angels.

Rangers predicted to be under .500.

But like my great great Grandfather Minchew said when he landed in New York...."People, don't believe everything you read on the internet".

I agree but it sure is hard to see them not winning 100 games IF most of the key players stay healthy.

Can't wait! They should be even better this year if we stay healthy

Fisher will get more OF reps...Hopefully McCullers has a full season(which I doubt), and we figure out a good DH. Maybe Reed will finally step up

Hopefully the Anthony Gose experiment is a success. If not, there's always Sipp.

Should be a 100 win team, hard to find any regression in that lineup or in rotation. Tucker and Whitley could be called up to help out after all star break.

That's right, how did I forget about that guy? I think we picked up another Lefty on waivers as well.

Wonder if they will try to extend Altuve?

Lookin’ for a repeat!
Still think the only thing we are missing is a strong lefty in the pen. I think we should go look for one at the all star break to seal the deal in the second half.

Saw this one the other day. Itís been gaining a little steam. Itís definitely intriguing, the want to cut McCanns at bats down to around 300 and he is really close to the end of his career. I think Realmuto has 3 yrs of control left.

Better not trade Tucker for JT!

We will need another OF when Jake and Reddick are gone.

It's because of McCanns contract details. He has an auto extension if he reaches a certain number of at bats or 90 games played. (I think I have the details right).

Yup Iím not for it really. Itís the first time Iíve seen something where they considered trading Tucker and it was more an apple for apple trade. I think Tucker was untouchable in all other deals, this one not so much. Either way just speculation now, itís go time. Ready to see Whitley at camp in spot starts as well.
