Chavis sucked. SEC overall was down this year except the top few, hence all the coaching turnover.

Georgia May be building to replace bama as the new dynasty after Saban leaves. They just signed some serious talent.

Texas vs USC - 21.7 rating (ABC)

I wish they would go back to ABC.

People are really sold on Murray north of the Red. I was like whaaaaaaaaaa?

Y'all gonna suck.

LOL.

Then I took a quick peek at the "way too early's" and low and behold there they are all over the top 10.

I wonder with Murray taking over at QB1 if he will still play baseball?

AFCA executive director Todd Berry says thereís ďunanimous supportĒ among coaches for a new redshirt rule, allowing redshirting player to play in 4 games.

This is awesome.

Just catching up on this new thread. Random thoughts:

Sure do wish LSU could find/develop these multiple QBs like Bama.

People don't seem to be giving Kirby Smart credit. His defense absolutely shut down Alabama. In the First Half. What he didn't see coming -- and the real genius of Nick Saban -- was a completely different team/game plan/ approach in the Second Half. Hard to know what to do with a team that can truly be Jeckel and Hyde.

Finally, glad to see BoB back from the dead.

I would say OK may not be in top 10 as they are losing their QB. Not sold on Murray and donít know who else is on the roster. I think UT will be a fringe 25 to start the year. As the season I expect them to move up. If not it will be a disappointing season.

I agree not sure how KM will be. However, he has some experience and most the skill players are back. Most of the OL is back. Most of the D is back and should be better. I'm not sure he knows how they come up with the rankings. 😂

I was in Oklahoma last weekend. I was surprised that the few folks I spoke with were not that excited about Murray. One went so far as to say he would not be the starter. No crystal ball of course but who all do they have at QB besides Murray?

A lot of people think that his future in professional sports is in baseball and the move to OU had more to do with the baseball team than the football team. Will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Murry will not be the stater for OU this year. Might use him as a decoy every now and then. Too short. Sam won't be in the running for Heisman either, not with 3-4 losses. Bama qb should be the Heisman front runner.

A different perspective on recruiting.
Right now my son is going through the process and has 4 offers from different DII and FBS schools. He also has offers from UMHB a DIII school. It is a ton of pressure on a young man with so many coaches texting and messaging him all the time. It is like having multiple car salesmen having you trapped in a room. Coaches have told him in sit downs at the school, “ If you give us a verbal commitment right now we are making an offer, if you do not then this is not an offer.” I have no clue what they are trying to accomplish. We are about to leave for an official visit at UTPB and have to get back home in time to meet with coaches from South Dakota who are flying in to meet with us on Sunday. I do not know if the process is stressful for all, but know it is hard as parents who want the best for their kid and want to know where they will be spending their child.

Coach Jeff Banks leaves A&M headed to Alabama to take over the same position as Special Teams coordinator. I'm sad to hear he is leaving. A&M lead the nation in blocked kicks, #3 in blocked punts, and #2 in punt returns and didn't get a chance to return enough kick off's for stats because C. Kirk was back there. Probably more importantly Coach Banks is a great recruiter. Alabama will patch up an obvious whole they had in their program with Coach Banks on the staff.

First, congrats to your son. Second, its a huge decision that will shape the rest of his life. My closest friends today are guys I played with in college. Whatever the decision I'm sure he enjoy it.

Smart move by TH as he names Carrington his 10th assistant (the tag may not fall off), behind the scenes this dude has been killing it in recruiting!

I get what you are saying but as a kid I would prefer to be 'recruited' by my coach. It may not matter these days to kids I guess. Hopefully the young man does a good job and gets to coach one day(if that is what he even wants to do). Did this guy play at Texas?

No, he is TH right hand man in recruiting (started with TH at Houston in 2015), as the Sooner beat guys call him...the secret weapon. He deals with the families, schedules all visits and runs said visits and evaluates players. He was instrumental in landing all of the kids from the Houston area. They'll tell you that. He was going to get poached.

10-4. Sounds like a smart move. If he were to remain the 10th assistant, what potential coaching duties would he have(position wise or unit)?
