This was a tough hunt but I got a doe. I did see some good bucks just not a shot on them for a bow. The 15" rule is working out there. The bigger bucks where really moving midday. It is a great place.

Did you hunt the north side or south? I had heard conflicting reports that they would not deer hunt the north side because of the new wetlands project and the duck hunters. i was wondering if you know the scoop?

I think it depends on the hunt. I was there for the youth hunt last weekend, and the north unit was used by only two parties that requested that part. The rest of the unit was used for youth waterfowl hunting.

Richland Creek Buck

I was there for archery and shot a pretty good buck to only lose the blood trail. Called the refuge today to see if they ever found it and they said if they find it, they will keep the horns for me.

Rattled in several nice bucks, very exciting and fun hunt.

The kids are drawn for the 22-23 this month. I believe spike or doe only.

Any suggestions? Ground blind or brush blind etc
