Kind of funny that they have found exactly nothing so far, but there still some people holding out.....[/QUOTE]

I’m no expert but my understanding is Those checks violate some CFR statute. Something about in-kind donation from a Corp. It’s illegal. Trump team says the payments are for Cohen’s retainer but no one can produce a retainer contract. Because there isn’t one. The Russia stuff is garbage, but these US attorneys could be a major issue if momentum keeps building. And that’s all we are seeing with this Cohen testimony... a way to keep building momentum for prosecution and open further avenues of investigation. They aren’t going to stop til this prez is out or so damaged that he can’t possibly win in 2020.

That mindset (which I have nothing against) always reminds me of the Neimoller passage.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
I quoted that quote just the other day and when I did this also came to mind.

Bottom line. Anyone who's ever owned even a small business knows there's zero odds of there being something illegal within Trumps multiple businesses.

About the same odds he didn't use tax loopholes to pay less in taxes.

Dems simply want to fish and keep fishing until they find something. It's completely absurd at this point.

Comparing small business ownership to Trumps endeavors is as asinine as it gets. You have read about all the shady stuff he has done with said businesses right? Im not saying I can prove that he has broken any laws, but when you have that kind of money and power things get taken care of. Whether through payments, settlements or a simple dissolution of the company, Trump has proven that he can "take care" of things before much legalities. My feeling is that there will be more investigations into some of his business dealings and taxes which will bring charges, but as I said before, he can probably pawn off responsibility to others or pay his way out.

Well at least you can admit that Russia was a nothing muffin from the beginning. And I want to say that is what got the momentum rolling in the beginning.

I cant speak to the CFR statute but I would guess that Trump isnt the first politician, much less President to pay some one off. Upon further review Slick actually got Hillary to pay off Paula

Your last line is a double edged sword. The Dems are just riling up Trumps base with this nonsense. I am pretty positive that Cohens testimony didnt push any one to the Dems side, if anything it is pushing people over to Trumps side.

Clinton Administration officials said a check for $850,000, the amount agreed to in November to settle the case, was being sent by overnight mail to Ms. Jones and her lawyers. The officials, who asked that their names not be used, said that a little more than half of the money, $475,000, came from an insurance policy against civil liability the President held with Chubb Group Insurance. Most, if not all, of the remainder was withdrawn from a blind trust in the name of Mrs. Clinton, which officials said last year had assets of slightly more than $1 million.

First you should learn to read.

The point is EVERY single business breaks laws. Yes, all of them. It's near impossible to follow all laws. If you ever owned even a simple business you would understand. So there's no way in hell a guy running an empire doesn't break laws. 100% of all business people do. It's called risk/reward. Companies actually hire highly paid people just to run risk/reward scenarios.

One would have to be a complete moron to think between his thousands of employees and people running his business all over the world that mistakes are not made daily..and not even on purpose.

This is the only reason Dems want access to his financials. Heck I'd wager you break laws every single day. Look how iffy TPWD laws can be. And that's super simple compared to tax codes for corporations and business laws between states.

But I'm sure you'll say I'm wrong. You hate Trump and nothing will change that.

"zero odds of there being something illegal", should I read it backwards and get the opposite meaning?

I own three businesses currently so I do understand completely. Your reply makes so much more sense and I agree. You are right I do break laws every day, but I have never met someone who doesn't. Speeding, failure to signal turn or lane change, etc.
I do NOT hate Trump, I just do not think he is a great leader for our country. More of a charlatan, like many of our politicians, democrats included.

President Trump on Friday blasted Michael Cohen over a newly reported book proposal that apparently painted the president in a positive light, saying his former lawyer's pitch contradicts this week's congressional testimony and renders him “totally discredited.”

I don’t know if it’s true but if it is... the star witness testimony is even more lies than what was already known

And yet, still everyone wants to ignore that the entire investigation was founded on lies, false info and possible illegal activity on behalf of top men.

He has absolutely accomplished more than any other president in history and you don't think he is a great leader. So, if he isn't, who would you say is a great leader?

In the 20 years since I have started paying attention I couldn't honestly say that I have witnessed a great leader. I can remember my grandpa and a couple of uncles name a few but at this point I have not had that kinda feeling.
What makes you say that about his accomplishments? Obviously I disagree, and not trying to poke you either, just trying to glean information.

The first president that I can remember was Eisenhower but I was much too young to know anything about politics. My first time to vote I cast my ballot for George Wallace. I still didn't know jack about politics but had already had me a dose of Johnson since I was a Vietnam Vet. I do remember thinking Nixon was a crook and it turned out he was hence my vote for Wallace. From that time on I never voted FOR someone but rather against someone until Regan came along. Once he was gone I again had to resort to voting against someone up until Trump ran. In my lifetime only two Presidents have stood out to be great leaders. One is still in office and the other is pushing up daisies. Here's one for the Gipper
