Salt blocks

I've noticed it help to put some molasses or buck jam on the block to get them started

I put them in my pen. I have also thought about putting them in different places with a piece of rod down into the ground so it will spin but they can't move it.

I tried that trick once, but drilling through the salt block was waaay more work than it was worth.

I tried a wood paddle bit and a regular steel bit.
Both didn't care to drill salt easily and lacked length to make it all the way through.

Maybe I could try one of those long drill bits to pull it off.

Concrete bit I would think would make pretty quick work of it.

Good point.

I may have tried that too, but it was so long ago I don't recall all that I tried.

So a long concrete bit might be best, I'll check into that.

We put out to Trophy rocks at the lease in Mo a month ago.
Poured deer Caine over them.
Went up this weekend and they were completely gone.

Do you just get the powder your supposed to mix with water and put it on them?

Nope, just took a rake and made a bare spot on the ground and poured the deer caine over them.
