Say what? We talking about a climber or a lean-to/ladder stand? Either way how in the heck are you gonna move trees without climbing down?

Deer are chasing hard. I saw nothing but does today however my buddy had 3 different bucks running does by him today. He was just 300 yards from me. 2 were legal. 1 spike and a 6 pointer. Neither of us got a doe tag this year. Saw a 4 pointer coming home and another buddy saw a hoss as he described it running a doe down the side of the road. It is prime time guys to get a big buck on the ground. Good luck tomorrow.

Got those growing all over both properties. Mostly where oaks used to be

Not sure on the type of mushroom, but i know the deer sure love em! I watched a couple does devour a few clumps of those last season..

Hmm... hard to tell without seeing the leaves, most Oaks that grow in wet areas like Creek or River bottoms will have a full shell like that though

Good luck E TX. I saw a young legal buck this morning, that's all I saw.

HF, I saw some mushrooms like the dark orange ones this morning, they were by some large rotten oak limbs on the ground.

I'm thinking Texas over cup maybe
http://texastreeplanting.tamu.edu/Di...ee.aspx?tid=79 Shows what leaves should look like.

It's either an overcup (white oak family) or a southern red oak (red oak family). If you had the lead I can say for sure. I'm leaning towards Southern Red Oak judging by the texture, the two acorns look very similar. Overcup is one of the most palletable acorns.
