Trails from feeding areas to nearby thickets. If there are tall pockets of grass in clear cuts or thinned areas look for places the grass has been pushed down and laid on.

Trails that are worn down leading to and from bedding areas will usually have deer droppings on them if used a lot. Don’t assume they use the path of least resistance. Some of these trails look impenetrable.

I don't sleep there. I just choose to go back to a bed at my house or camp. If I was looking for a bedding area, I'd go with Holiday Inn Express because of their little breakfast bar even though they alway undercook/overcook their eggs. Their OJ has no pulp so that is good. Glad I could help you.

Exactly! When you find a good spot you know it. You can smell the deer as well. Pig area is even worse!

Deer like to bed where they can see downwind and smell anything approaching up wind. Downwind side of a hill or knoll is a good place to start.

And if it's fairly flat? Any kinda elevation change is good?
