For me, to be a legend, they would have had to transcended the industry, been relative for more than 2 decades and at one time dominated at the top.
The obvious ones, Willie, Dolly, Loretta Lynn, Strait, and Charlie Pride. I wouldn't consider Glen Cambell a legend . In time I think Charlie Daniels and Garth Brooks will get there. Daniels may already be. Alan Jackson is to young but I think he will get there as well.Last edited by BrandonA; 04-07-2016, 01:23 PM.

Before I start I'll say this, Chris Stapelton is good no doubt but NO ONE even heard of him a year ago, no where near the top of the list.
Red dirt guys that I think will go down in history as country legends would be the following
Jason Boland (top of my list)
Cody Jinks
Radney Foster
Cory Morrow
Roger Creager
Cody johnson
Hayes Carll
^^ Some of those guys have been consistently putting out killer albums over the past 12-15 years.
Jerry Jeff
Robert Earl
Pat Green

But Jerry Jeff and Robert Earl are absolutely above the others. Along with (I may get slammed for this, but oh well) Billy Joe Shaver

Some of the red dirt guys are legit for sure but several of the "legend" or what people call the best aren't good for much more than writing songs and letting others sing them. Your list is pretty solid thoughLast edited by bphillips; 04-07-2016, 02:18 PM.
