DMP Recap

We conducted our capture last Thursday November 20th. We had great weather and we set out with a goal of capturing 60 does and three bucks - we have three DMP Pens. We caught 43 does and one buck (007) between 7:30am - 12:30pm. After lunch between 1:15pm - 5:00pm we captured 17 does and could not find our other target bucks. We are going to fly this afternoon around 1:30pm to find the other two bucks. We have a few targets. The first one is a 5 year old 6 x 7. Another option is the wide 12, he is 6 years old and was in our DMP pen last year. Another option is the wide 10, he is 6 years old and was in our DMP pen last year as well. The final option is the mainframe twelve with a small drop tine, he was not in any DMP pen last year.

This deer is one that was netted during the capture last Thursday but was not a target buck, he is 4 years old. I will post the results later this afternoon if we are successful. Thanks for looking!

Great looking four year olds. Looks like that is as much fun/ or more than hunting em. Get to put your hands on em, then put em in a pen and see them for a couple of months whenever you want. Have you had any mortality with the use of helo capture and DMP pens?

Yes sir, he was running the gun. He netted 49 in a row before a miss - dang good with that thing.

3 hours - those critters are good at hiding.

We have netted close to 300 deer for the DMP over the last few years and we have only had one injury - broken leg on a doe.

The four year old pictured in the first post was not going to be one of the DMP breeders this year, but it turns out he gets lucky and now has 20 girlfriends. We could not find the other deer.
