Day 1 was in the books and a huge relief> i was worried i would choke or yank a shot because i was so tired> i hadnt slept but 5 hours total since i left houston and i only had 5 hours sleep the night before our departure> much the same as it was for my buddy Mike 2 years before.. sleep was becoming an issue and concern for me. i would have a few drinks and stay up till 10:30 pm then try to sleep. i would fall asleep around 11 pm then be wide awake at 2 a.m this was a problem that lasted till the night of day 7. the PH's told us on the day of arrival that a cold front was on the way and that we were going to whack & stack while the weather was in our favor. the were concerned that the cold front would shut the animals down and make things difficult. they were kinda right a cold front blew in the night of day 1 and we were greeted in the morning with 20-30mph winds and cold. we headed out to look for an Nyala Bull that Anthony had patterned. These guys do their home work and know the animals habits like the backs of their hand> about 9 a.m. 3 bulls appeared 2 immature and the Bull i shot.
