I was blessed this morning to arrow this buck that was on the trail of a hot doe. I watched him from daylight standing with the doe for over an hour. Three other smaller bucks tried to get in on the action but over the next hour he ran each buck off. She decided to make a slow 70 yard walk towards my stand with the buck following her every step. She walked into my setup and the buck skirted around the edge. When he got sideways at 28 yards I drew, picked a spot and let it fly. The arrow was a pass through and I could hear him wreck around the corner out of view. I waited about 30 minutes and took a 60 yard walk to recover him. It has been a super slow October to this point with the weather, acorns, moon phases....ect. This buck represents many hour in the stand. This deer had never seen this deer before this morning. The rut went into full swing this weekend and again I was Blessed!
