Well I went yesterday at my deer lease for the opening day of turkey season in hopes of a turkey, but if no turkey a hog would be great to. I hunted from 4-9:30 p.m. and during the day time I saw nothing but a rabbit, but then when it became night time it all changed. I had coons at the feeder ever since around 8 and they were tearing that corn up. At 9:05 p.m. I hear some snorting and heavy breathing behind me coming towards the feeder. I figured it was a hog... and it was as you can see
So I waited to turn my light on to shoot him until he was under the feeder, well I start to hear feeding and thought it was him and when I shined it was a coon and the hog wasn't under the feeder and he got spooked and sounded like at first that he ran off a little ways. He decided to come back though and I just waited until I had him directly under the feeder before shining the light where I could shoot him quickly before he got spooked again.
I finally decided to shine the light and I drew back, he took a step forward, I aimed with him quarting away and WHACK!!! He didnt go but about 20-30 yards and I heard him crash in the creek. Here's a game camera picture as I dragged him out
It was an awesome hunt and I was thanking the Lord for that hunt hopefully next time i will have video I'm working on getting setup to film at night time with an infrared light. Also the game camera pictures are an hour behind . This was the first time to hunt this new stand we setup 2 weeks ago and got a hog on it the first hunt AWESOME!!!!
