    Rattlesnake ID? Pasadena TX

My neighbor had this baby rattlesnake try and get into her house. She shut the door and it was wedged until animal control got there. It’s a juvenile rattler of some sort. I’m thinking it’s a Massasauga but I’m not sure. The picture is not the greatest but it’s the only one she took. Just curious what the pros thought. And yes the snake lived to see another day!

What did they do with it, turn it loose? I've never seen a rattle snake like that.

Yeah I had my doubts but that’s what the Dog catcher guy said. So of course all the women were freaking out

The dog catcher needs to stick with dogs.

Yep. The eyes are a very good way to tell a pit viper from a non pit viper. Round pupils, say it's not a pit viper and the head is also the wrong shape for a pit viper.
