james daughtrey hunt coming up jan 3

I'm in 4 and was 4th to pick. The first guy to pick took 6 like he was on a mission then the group before me picked up 5.

Dad and I scouted then corned a spot for a tripod and set up a camera on it.

Brushed in two pop ups and corned then eased out by 430. In the cafe now and the chicken fried steak just arrived.

I may have enough service for a live hunt.

6 was the unit I was in so wonder if I had anything to do with it

I believe 4 was the other unit TBH'ers were in and saw some solid deer.

Morning from the Daughtry. I'm in my pop up off of a draw that leads to San Miguel creek. Turkeys are gobbling not far away and I can hear some hogs cutting up in the creek bottom. Hopefully that's where they stay.

All the corn was gone from both spots, hopefully the deer found it prior to the hogs.

This deer needs to die as a management candidate and I'm happy to oblige be he's unfortunately not 12 inches wide imo.... legal per state rules but not for this hunt.

My thoughts as well.

I understand the reason for 12 inch minimums as it protects the 1.5 and possibly even a 2 year olds that's not truly a mgt candidate.

I had this 2 year 9 out for about 30 minutes then this 3 year 9 runs him off. After a few minutes he comes back and they fed together for a short time but the younger deer was treading lightly.

Service is spotty at best, I don't have 1 bar but more like 1 dot.
