        THE place to get tri-tips is at the big HEBs. $5.77# this week
        they usually have a pretty good selection to pick from
        the normal tr-tip is 2½#s+
        I was digging through all the ones in the cooler and came across 3 that were under 2#s
        I bought all 3 because i normally only cook for me and the wife

        taters were butter, sour cream & grated colby-jack when i did the mash

                Santa Maria rub is equal parts kosher salt, cracked black pepper, and garlic powder.

                I don't like that flavor so I make a modified one that's 3 parts kosher salt, 2 parts cracked black pepper, and 1 part garlic powder.
