If one gets a trust do they have to go through the long wait to purchase more suppressors?

I just bought my second suppressor from SilencerShop, they retain your records so thereís no paperwork that needs to be done on your end the second time around (assuming your trust is already set up and they have the info on file).

You still have to go through the wait for approval of the tax stamp, every time..

Someone else posted something about just buying one every year so that youíve always got one on the way.. I like that idea

Is it faster if you go as an invidual? Or a trust?

Not the data I am seeing. 324 days for trust vs 212 for individual. Everyone claims the backlog will clear but I haven't seen anything concrete to convince me.

This has happened since 41F. I think it was the ATF punishing trust holders. Look at the curve and the individuals immediately started bending down (now 3-4 months) and the Trusts just started bending down (now 9-12 months)

Possibly on purpose to sway people to individuals but thereís more paperwork involved with a trust since thereís multiple people on a trust.

I had lunch with a guy from ATF recently. They're just a bureaucracy. The examiners aren't out to treat Trusts like a red-headed stepchild. They were given almost no guidance on how to process Trusts post-41F. No help on how to delineate Responsible Persons. As a result, they just left all the Trusts in a pile while they worked on what they knew how to process: Individuals.

Eventually, guidance was disseminated about how to process Trusts. So now they've turned back to the paperwork mountain and started to tackle it. That's why you see Trust times coming down.

Their methods are archaic. Anyone who used E-Forms knows that software is from the 1980s. But it sure beats #WaitingForHPA

That's infuriating. I filed a form 1 suppressor trust last October and still don't have it.

You need to call them. You posted that quote ^^ about them emailing you in two months ago. It should have been pushed through by now. If you can't get the help you need via that email, PM me for a direct number to an ATF examiner who is very helpful.

They should remove the registered before date on the NFA for Class 3 weapons as well.

Default Form 4 Wait

Mine was purchased January 31, 2017 through Capitol Armory. I got an email 2 days ago, Sunday that the form was approved. Appears it was done so on December 7th. Looks like I may take a quick jog down to Austin.

Send an email to info [at] capitol armory [dot] com, saying "Please confirm the date the check for Serial Number: ******XX was cashed."

Someone (probably Torrey or his wife Rhiannon) will respond.

Although I don't have my exact mail date, my early Feb paperwork and check for my Sico Hybrid came back Dec 23rd. Form 4, on a Trust just a shade under 10 months. Things may be looking up for the timelines.

Checks cashed for form1 and form4 Dec 30. The old man that filled out my paperwork at the gun shop made several mistakes on the paperwork that I corrected before I sent them out. If checks were cashed, is it safe to assume that the forms were filled out correctly? TIA

No. Not at all. There could be 12 months from the date the check was cashed to the date a human being actually scrutinized the contents of your form.

This whole process is frustrating. My receptionist (notary) was amazed at the amount of paperwork that was involved in both forms, as well as the trust. "And they want MORE gun control?! As if criminals will take the time to do this"

...Yup

I went through Capitol Armory as an individual and purchased an Ultra 7 on June 29th. I JUST got the email saying I can pick it up today! 6 months and change is a really pleasant suprise.
