This kind of thing just makes me nuts.
The Ravens just prevented a sure TD with a horsecollar tackle on the goal line. Two plays later the Saints nearly fumble on the goal line and the Ravens could have gotten the ball back.
With all the emphasis on protecting players these days, how ON EARTH can that be allowed? IMO they should have granted the TD, then enforced the penalty after the kickoff.
In effect, it was a 1 yard penalty for a foul that could end a player's career, and at a minimum, cost the Saints 7 points.
I can't stand it when in professional sports, a team is rewarded for committing a penalty. It's the sole reason I don't watch NBA basketball - because they intentionally foul at the end of the game to gain an advantage.
