    Wyoming public land elk

took this Elk a few days ago in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. This was a horseback hunt....It has been hot and the wolves have been howling at night so the elk were quiet. we were 8 miles or more away from camp when I got the opportunity. I was beat to death from riding on a horse through this thick and steep terrain.....did not see any Grizzly but did see tracks everywhere. There are some real slammers in this area but when this bull almost ran me over I had to take him....

Montec 100gr Carbon steel......total arrow weight is 518gr. was not a complete pass through but did penetrate all the way through and he shook it out his left side pretty quickly. He did not go 80 yards before piling up.
