I must live in a snake pit

Killed another rattler this morning. It's the 67th one since we built here 20 years ago. They have been from this size to 6'2".

6'2" is a good one. Might try to bring in some king snakes.

Yes, because there are more where that one came from. I think I would call in a professional. Youve got a den or two somewhere close.

There are probably 50 more that size around.

They can still envenomate due to reflex movements decapitated so be careful.

I had a buddy who built a house on a low hill SW of Dilley about 20 years ago and killed 191 around the house and barn the first year that he was there. His three year old daughter was bitten as well. It could always be worse...

That's only just over 3 a year on average. Nothing to worry about...

I agree you might have a den nearby and professional help might be in order.

My cousins grandmother had a den get established under her house. When she was 94 she asked us to come kill the snake in her garage so she could get on the treadmill. Ended up killing 13 snakes in her yard that day. It was December 27 in Aspermont.

My parents are on # 10 just this month!!! In open carport/garage. Between the feed room, hay and general out and about they are at about 30-40 for the year so far. They are in the Nixon area.
