How owning an AR can cost you $1000 per day

Just read that a town outside of Chicago has outlawed owning assault rifles. You can be fined up to $1000 per day until you turn it in. How can this not be against the 2nd amendment?

An affluent suburb north of Chicago hasn’t had a murder in over a decade, but it recently passed one of the toughest gun-control laws in the country.

It is against the 2nd Amendment. If it ever gets to the point that it costs me money to own a gun they better either come get it or they'll have to put it on my tab. Liberals can kiss my ***.

There has been a second amendment lawsuit filed already.

A couple of Illinois counties have already passed measures stating that such laws cannot be enforced (basically they stated if sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants are ok then this is too). At least there's still a few people in yankee land with some common sense.

I don’t see how it could be enforceable.

Every law is enforceable until it is challenged and struck down by a higher court.

And this was confirmed by Snopes. Unbelievable.

The Deerfield village board unanimously passed an ordinance banning certain types of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

Until the law is overturned as unconstitutional:

                          (Knock at door)
                          Homeowner: "Can I help you?"
Town Official: "Do you have an AR-15 in this house?"
                          Homeowner: "Nope."
Town Official: "May we come in and see for ourselves?"
                          Homeowner: "Nope."

We have 4th Amendment rights as well.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
