    TV antenna install

I think i might have bought one a little too big- but didn't wanna mess with it multiple times. Went with a wine guard 8200.
Way too large to put in my second story attic. Second option was the attic above garage. Both attics had the radiant barrier so I didn't even try it. Wasn't going to put it outside or on the roof and make an eye sore so it ended up going in the garage.
We are about 65 miles line of sight from the towers. Getting a little over 50 channels going to 4 tvs

... and most of them are in either 720P or 1080I HD. Free TV is nice. Good thinking on your mounting position.

thanks. total cost was under $200 and i was able to cancel cable at $100/m. we only ever watched primetime tv on the major networks anyways. i have internet tv for all the other shows we won't get.

had to think fast when i got that thing put together and saw how massive it was! was no way it was going back in the box for a return lol

Have had an antenna for a few years without cable, only way to go. Only time I miss it is when I want to watch the spurs on TNT or TBS, or when something is on ESPN like monday night football or some of the championship games.

i tapped into the existing wiring so the list was pretty much just antenna , j mount, and pre amp. without existing wiring you would also need coax cable and splitters.

                pre amp.

you wouldn't need an antenna that large unless you live out in the sticks and channels are over 60 miles away.

if your zip is 77077 then you are only about 15 miles from most major broadcast and could pick them all up with a simple indoor antenna.
