Storing AMMO in a garage safe?

As a result of flooding from Harvey my safe was replaced free of charge. They told me to keep the old one therefore I now have two. The flooded safe is cleaned and dried out and seems fine for use.

My question is, would it be good idea to keep one of the safes in the garage to store AMMO? Or will the temperature (mostly hot in Houston) negatively effect the accuracy of life of the ammo?

I've got full ammo cans that have been outside for 20 years. Perfect condition.

Couple of cans where submerged at my moms during the flood. Gotta love water tight military ammo cans!

I stored almost 35 cases of shotgun shells in my garage in DFW over 5-6 years. They all went bang.
