    Need input on these photos

I was wanting to know what y'all thought about this deer. Velvet really fools me, as of right now he is only a seven point and i was wanting to know if there is still time to grow to at least an eight. Sorry about the time and date i changed out batteries on my camera and forgot to reset the time and date. these photos are from 7/10/11-7/17/11

Young Deer, maybe 3 year old. He will never magically grow that eight point to make him a typical 8 point rack or 10 point later in life. He might? grow it on the 4 point side, and IF he grows one on the 3 point side there will be another point usually showing up on the other side, always making him an uneven count from one side to the other......as in a 9 pointer. According to T&M wildgame biologist at Bill Carter's Sombrerito Ranch.

I LOVE big six and seven points! A pope and young sixer would be an awesome buck.

I agree on age, and that he will most likely be a 7 this year. However, some posts have made the claim that he will never grow to be more, or that if he does he will always be odd in points. This may be the case, but to say never is false. This was a rough year with the drought. He looks to be 3, and if your under an intense management program then take him if you want. However, it is my suggestion that if you aren't on an intensive mangement program and based on this years conditions, I would be hesitant to pass judgement on anything that isn't mature. However, thats JMO.
