    Carnival Cruises Drink Packages?

I'm about to go on a 5 day Carnival Cruise and am curious about their drink prices versus the drink packages? I may drink as much as a 6 pack of beer or a few drinks a day. The package is $50/day. Any idea about what the beer prices are for beers like Shiner Bock or Dos XX? I can't stand Lite or Bud. I got the package on a Royal Carribean cruise a few years ago and think I wasted a lot of money.

Yes, I know there are storms in the Atlantic that can screw up the trip. I'm hoping for calm seas and following winds.

I like it just for the peace of mind not having to think about prices of drinks or wasting them. Get a bloody mary in the morning that's no bueno, trade it in for a screwdriver. Wine isn't to your liking at supper, try another.

It's been along time since I went on a cruise but it seems Coors Light was 5-6 bucks a beer. Get the drink deal

            Carnival Cruises Drink Packages?

Are you cruising as a party of 1? On our carnival cruise, it was my wife and I and we both had to purchase the drink package (Cheers program) or something like that. It was both of us buy it or none. My wife drinks some but not 5-10-15 drinks a day like me when I'm cruising. [emoji41]

You can only order 15 drinks a day regardless if you pay for them at the bar or have the package.

Btw, I only hit my 15 drink max one day. Lol. Crown and water goes down quick.

Carnival now makes you buy a drink package for each adult in the room. If traveling alone, no big deal. Normally I buy one for me and my wife will purchase a drink a day at most. The customer service on the ship would not back off this new rule. Next trip we will have a Dr. excuse for the wife stating she cant have alcohol. This was the only way Carnival would allow one adult in the room to have a alcohol pass. Our last cruise was a 4 day in May to Cozumel.
You also have the option to order a bottle of Jack etc to be delivered to your room prior to boarding at decent price. Do this prior to boarding other wise its 99.00 for the 5th of whatever after you board. You cant take any bottle water on board but you can take canned soft drinks. Not sure on quantity though, it would be nice to have witht he 5th in the room if you go that route too.

Another thing about the drink package is that if you sail out of Galveston, your package doesn't kick in until the following day...so you have to buy drinks the first day/evening which sucks! I spent $150 on drinks the first night. [emoji12]

Didn't work for us on the last trip. I never got close to 15 drinks a day. I did start drinking the hard stuff half way through. If you do get it buy it after the first day, first day is a waste of money.

You can each take one bottle of wine on the trip. I'm sure you know that.

And I'm sure you've heard of folks smuggling hard liquor in their luggage in rum runner flasks, shampoo bottles, etc. Don't ask me how I know, but it's doable. [emoji12]

We don't ever buy the package. If you go to the casino and play between our money spent and winnings we usually get to drink free the whole cruise after first day or so. We're leaving on one out of Galveston on the 14th

I bought a bottle of Crown before our cruise and made my own drinks. But it also wasn't given to me until the 2nd day so I had to buy drinks the first day. Also the bottle was a normal size and was 80 bones!!!!

I wouldn't count on winning at any casino. You don't get free drinks in the casino either. Every time you buy a drink your personal ship ID card is swiped and it either goes on your bill to be paid after the cruise or towards your drink package allotment.
